Living with DME can be difficult sometimes, especially when you have to deal with your diabetes, other conditions as well as all the other things a busy life includes. Here are a few tips to keep your DME treatment on track, and to get the most out of life.

Set goals

Use SMART goal setting techniques to set goals and measure progress against them.

  • Keeping your blood pressure and cholesterol levels in check by sticking to a wholesome diet, exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy weight
  • Stopping smoking
  • Limiting your alcohol intake

Seek support

This may come from family, friends or patient organizations and support groups. DME and diabetes can be difficult for one person to cope with all on their own, so seeking help from others when you need it can be important.
